My Take on the Book:

With my going back to university... I havent reviewed many books for you all. It's not that I  haven't wanted to but, I just haven't had the time. So, I apologize and promise to try for more lol. with that said....

wow! i loved book 1 but I was not prepared for the epic-ness that is book 2. 

Once again you are taken on a thrilling adventure  with Nadia. You get to watch her character develop more and see her relationships blossom into more. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from this book with its enrapturing storyline and realistic characters and situations.

Whereas the first book was a smidge on the dark side this one is definitely a bit more on the mature side. It touches on topics that are important like gender fluidity. It was refreshing to see these scenes unfold since some of these topics are hard to come by in books of this genre.

Also, when I say mature, I mean mature. No there isn’t lewd verbiage or an overly descriptive discomfort that some of these books will make you feel but it’s there and I like how important and yet normal these things were.

I don’t wanna give anything too important away so I’ll stop there are just say how great this book was.

5 Quills

Just like book 1, prepare yourself for a pretty epic story and a massively aggravating cliff hanger... this time no pun, I promise. Soul Finder is a pretty go go go kind of book. Once the story picks up, which is admittedly fast, you don’t get the lull you got in book 1. The characters have been introduced and the new ones, while important don’t get the same in depth character pros and development you see in Soulless. That is not to say that each character wasn’t fleshed out properly; they felt just as tangible as Diesel and Nadia. It was refreshing and I felt like it helped move the story along. Kudos on another great installment Ms. Maree, I look forward to book 3 and seeing where these unforgettable characters go!

My Take on the Book:

This was a really fun and interesting read. It starts off on a pretty sad note and definitely tugs at the heart strings but it gradually picks up speed and pulls away from the realm of sadness and into a new mysterious and magical world.

I loved all the little nuances that made this ‘magical’ book different. The 2 different worlds and the way that magic is explained. It all makes for an intriguing and unique read.

And while, for the most part I loved this book, there were times where I found myself annoyed at the main characters. I’ve never been one to hate on romance, on the contrary, I am always rooting for the couple but the speed of their love and the development of the relationship just made what I felt was a really well thought out and fleshed out story seem rushed. It wasn’t the characters per say, as I really liked them, but just the general rushed aspect of them as a unit. They already had some pre-established history but I guess I didn’t feel like I had enough of a back story.

4.5 Quills

With the exception of what I felt was a rushed romance, this book is a solid read. I can only assume that this is just the beginning of a series and if that’s the case then I really look forward to reading more about The Wilds and seeing where Lilli’s journey takes her next.

My Take on the Book:

I don't know what it is about these types of books that I love. I'm not sure what draws me in... but I'm inexplicably drawn to them. Every time I get offered a chance to review them, I'm all for it. This book was no exception. These books with romances that start of as fake and somehow morph into something real seem to be a big thing at the moment and every time I come across one, I just have to read it.

What I like about this book was the slight variances to the traditional way these stories always seem to be told. It's not some super popular jock (football and basketball being the 2 most popular) or the hulking and mysterious motorcycle riding bad boy. And it’s not some unknown or severely picked on girl. Sure there is a bit of that teasing as the synopsis points out but it’s not a common occurrence. It’s a new development that happens only after the event that starts the whole story. I liked how different the characters were than the typical mainstream leads, faulted and bruised characters with real depth. They had real problems that made them instantly someone you could connect with. There were a lot of parallels in their lives and to me that made the connection between the 2 all the more realistic.

The more I read, the more I found the characters to be strong willed and likeable. The progression of each relationship was believable and endearing. Evan was the adorable epitome of bad boy with a heart of gold. A character that genuinely was a good guy, just one with some questionable habits and past 'relationships' and Taylor is a fun, sometimes snarky and way smart leading lady. They complement each other in a way that really works and I love that about this book.

5 Quills

My only problem with this book was the minimal interaction with each character's respective best friends. I really liked each of them and I would have loved a little more page time for Carly, who was a super strong female who was fiercely loyal to her bestie. I kinda hope that this author releases some more goodies with more characters in this book. Another thing I really liked was the fluidity of the book and the story progression. It goes from 1 point to the other in an almost seamless way and that’s pretty awesome. There isn't too much in the way of drama, and what I mean by that is that there is no 'big bad' person or event just some points of human error. Nothing sinister, which was refreshing. Kudos to the author for writing such a good story :D

My Take on the Book:

Eepp! I love this!!!

Having read/reviewed a previous novel from this author I knew I’d like this book but I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. This was a super quick read for me and I greedily took in every page and scene.

In this book you are introduced to some great characters that are easy to like and grow fond of. Another good note is that you do get to have alternating POVs so there aren’t very many gaps in this story in terms of story progression.

I can’t say enough about this book and yet I’m fearful of saying too much and ruining the experience for all of you! But I will say that not everything is at it appears and you should read this book with an open mind because chances are, if you’ve guessed how something is going to go, that you are wrong.

Here’s to hoping that there is a sequel to this book in the works, so I can read more about these characters! There were a lot of unanswered questions and it did finish off as open ended so that’s another reason to hope for a follow up.

It’s a solid read that is sure to enthrall and entice you. Kudos to Ms. Lepore for creating such a vivid world with such interesting characters.

My Take on the Book:

Hmmm

This is a tricky book to review. I was crazy about it but it was enjoyable with a fun and unique storyline. There were some moments where I felt annoyed with the characters and the speed of the connection that is built between them.

The book is short and the story takes place within a couple of days of each other so the progression felt too rushed and took me out of it. I couldn’t sink into the story and connect with the characters.

What I did enjoy was the originality and the ending. I found myself smiling when I realized that the story itself was not unfolding in a predictable manner.

Originality plays a big role in the rating of this book. The characters were great on their own but together I wasn’t intrigued.

I was really put off by the pace of the story and the timeline but the base of the story is something I really liked and so I took that into account as well.

It’s a good book with an interesting story arc and unique qualities so I recommend it!
