My Take On The Book(s):

I have just one word to describe this series and that is Hot! As deprived as it may sound, I want myself a Nathan lol. I’ve decided for the sake of practicality, I would combine my review of all 3 books into one. Keep in mind that when searching on Amazon or Goodreads the review for each book will be separate and stand-alone. The series itself started strong and continued with a slow sizzling burn that only continued to build as the story progressed. Never leaving you wanting or lost. Nothing was rushed in terms of the relationship and man oh man was it hot.

I loved the way book one introduces you to the main characters and their torrid love affair. The prologue drawing you in so thoroughly with its wording and flow more than the actual scene. It was poetic in a way and that I found to be completely refreshing in the Erotica Genre… something many other stories lack. You get a real story line with realistic characters and you get the steamy scenes you crave from books such as this.

On top of all the other good stuff you’ve also got yourself a steady growth for the characters, their storylines reaching crescendos in a very cohesive way. The author had a very planned out story with no real glaring inconsistencies… truthfully, I found none. My only complaint was the predictability. Towards the last quarter of the book, where the major turning points occur some things are ‘discovered’ a term I use loosely because if you pay attention to the story, the buildup is there are quite obvious.

Book 1.5 was a nice refresher, a little interlude before delving into book 2 that gives you a tiny glimpse into the troubled mind of the elusive Nathan Thorne. But admittedly nothing really noteworthy takes place in this… Once again, I use that term lightly as there is a momentous occasion in this small short but it’s mentioned frequently throughout book 2 so it more of a party favor. A treat for readers, like myself who have come to love Nate.

Book three is where I feel like the author showed her true grit. I’ll admit to my slight disappointment in this book, but that had nothing to do with the storyline so much as my morbid fascination with Lila and Nate. Throughout this book you get a glimpse into both of these character’s pasts and meet some very important people to them but there was some loose weaving in this book that kinda threw me off. I will admit to a twist that while expected, Is also complete unexpected. I know that might not make much sense at the moment but trust me when I say you expect something to happen but what actually occurs is something that will through you for a loop. This one scene restored my faith in the series and kept me reading. So while I gave book one a solid 4.5 rating, this one fell a little flat. The author redeemed herself by the end of the book and thoroughly appeases you. Unlike book 1 that ends on a cliffhanger, this one actually ends. Sure there is much left to be discussed or dealt with but it ends in a way that doesn’t leave you biting your nails and freaking out.

I’m thoroughly excited for book 3 and more steaminess from these characters. I look forward to seeing how everything turns out and finding out if these 2 characters can find their happily ever after.
