Book Description:
Cami Broussard has her future all figured out.
She'll finish her senior year of high school, then go to work full-time as an
apprentice chef in her father's French restaurant, alongside her boyfriend,
Luke. But then twenty-year-old ex-Marine Julian Wyatt comes to live with Cami's
family while recovering from serious injuries. And suddenly Cami finds herself
questioning everything she thought she wanted.
Julian's all attitude, challenges and intense green-brown eyes. But beneath that abrasive exterior is a man who just might be as lost as Cami's starting to feel. And Cami can't stop thinking about him. Talking to him. Wanting to kiss him. He's got her seriously stirred up. Her senior year has just gotten a lot more complicated…

My
Take On The Book:
There was
just something so beautiful and endearing about this book, I couldn’t put it
down. I fell in love with the character and the story. It’s a hard book to
break down into pros and cons since a lot of it is interwoven so you’ll just
have to make due with these notes.
Cami, is a
loyal and loveable character, but she has these moments of stupidity that make
you wanna shake the girl. But when it comes to Julian and their romance
::sigh:: she does it right. He on the other hand, has stupid boy moments and
while it’s somewhat understandable due to his hardships, its still utterly
frustrating. This was definitely an uplifting book and a romance that reels you
in. I kept trying to guess what would happen and more often then not, I was
wrong. Its not what you expect and that is what makes it so perfect. My only
real complaint is how hard people come down on Cami for doing whats natural,
the dude is a jerk through the better half of the novel and she treats him just
like she’d treat any other jerk. They all want to help him fit in and make it
easier, they try so hard not to remind him of his disability but then, all that
coddling does remind him. I feel like Cami was the only one that treated him
normally. Yeah she looked and freaked a bit the first time she saw him, but she
had never been face to face with those types of injuries. Everyone just tiptoes
around the wounded vet and that is just a reminder of what happened, what he
feels he failed at.
The author
did a magnificent job at portraying his pain and his growth as well as the
growth of their relationship. It was all together beautiful and captivating.
