Blackmail Boyfriend
Sometimes, blackmail is the only weapon a girl has…
Haley Patterson has had a crush on golden boy Bryce Colton for ages. But when she hears a rumor that he hooked up with her she gives him a choice: be her boyfriend for a month to show other guys that she’s dateable—despite her overprotective and very intimidating brothers—or deal with the angry, cage-fighting boyfriend of the girl he actually did hook up with.
Bryce didn’t know the other Haley even had a boyfriend. He was just trying to get his ex off his back. And now, not only is he being blackmailed, he's being blackmailed by an honor student. His new “girlfriend” has two three-legged dogs, her father mows grass at the country club, and she's…well, difficult. And different.
Can something so fake turn into something real?

My Take:
That was super
cute! I wasn't expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. The sweet little
story with not much in terms of conflict just minor hiccups, nothing really
earth shattering or defining. But what the story did have was a lot of laughs.
This was by far one of the cutest and funniest books I've read in a while.
The
interactions between each character were very realistic. The chemistry between
Haley and Blake was a great. They're teasing and their banter, even their pestering
was cute and flirty and really funny. But by far I think I enjoyed Jane's
character the most. She was a great best friend and honest - maybe to honest.
It was really great to see her get her happily ever after.
One of the
best things about this story, was how the girls were portrayed. They aren't
weak, they aren't fake and they most definitely aren't stupid. Sure they have
your typical moments of weakness but all in all they're pretty strong and
fierce female characters. I love their ability to snark back to any character
that tries to bring them down.

Quills
If you're
looking for a cute, fun read with strong girls and an adorable romance then
this is the book for you. The characters will worm their way into your heart,
make you laugh and genuinely hope for the best for them. The characters are
well developed and their chemistry believable. This is definitely a light
romance, in the sense that there isn't any huge drama aside from a crazy ex-girlfriend,
a domineering father and a healthy dose of wacky and opinionated family members
and animals.
