My
Take:
Wow. Just wow.
I was
initially intrigued by the synopsis of this book, but I wasn't sure
how everything will pan out. It could have been a great book, or
something that's been to the category of notoriously bad reads.
Luckily, this turned out to be a great read.
From
page 1, the first sentence, I was hooked. It didn't take long for me
to be invested in Presley or to become way too curious. There were a
lot of moments where the characters annoyed me, but it was to be
expected. What they had to go through, is not something someone deals
with on a day to day basis so their reactions were warranted; I just
happened to be a very impatient woman.
The
progression of these characters relationships was also something very
spot on. It was very realistic and none of this instantaneous I love
you nonsense, that while I occasionally adore in a book with a
supernatural quality, I was happy to find that the author took note
that this was not that kind of story.
And
while this story, this book did have a legitimate ending, I'm not
ashamed to admit that I'm a little bit sad is that this journey has
come to an end.
5
Quills
All
good things must come to an end, and this was definitely go so it's
not surprising that it did indeed finish, but I am a little
disappointed that there will be no more Presley, no more Sam and no
more Bauer. I really grew to love these characters and I admit that I
would really like to know more about them and where the story could
possibly go. Kudos to the author for writing such a unique and
riveting tale.
