My
Take On The Book:
This book
definitely took me back to the day I watched ‘Kick Ass’ and ‘Super’. It was quirky
and fun and full of diabolical villains with a shit ton of crimes. It was easy
to imagine the scenes and characters and I could definitely picture this as a
movie as it was very detailed and descriptive. Funny enough though, while I am
usually not a fan of so much detail, this one didn’t feel like it was ‘too much’.
Rather it felt like just enough descriptions went into this book. My only major
qualm was Jenny. I, for obvious reasons can’t get into detail about this
character but there was just something so disappointing about her character
which sucks because Bremy loved her so much.
Bremy is an
amazing lead. She’s klutzy and cute and definitely has a solid moral compass.
She wasn’t afraid to give up a comfortable life in favor of one she’s proud of
and that’s just awesome. Ryder was pretty cool in a Gotham City Super Hero
kinda way and Queenie was hilarious. Honestly I enjoyed her scenes the most.
And Bart, dear lord that creep was priceless. He’s that weirdo you secretly
love lol. The ending was so anticlimactic but oddly enough that didn’t bother
me much…. What I didn’t like was how open ended it seemed. Is there a follow up
or was that it for Bremy and friends. Inquiring minds want to know.
